Teaching Materials & Study Guides

Built for the room you have in mind.

For pastors, teachers, small group leaders, study coordinators, and anybody handing this material to somebody else.

You already know the number in your own church: people who came forward, or prayed something, or grew up in it, and were never discipled afterward. They can use the vocabulary. Nobody ever put anything underneath it.

They will not raise their hands, because raising a hand means admitting they have been present for years without knowing. Most of them assume everybody else knows and they are the only one who does not. That assumption is the single biggest obstacle in the room, and it is almost always wrong.

This material was written to make that admission unnecessary. Nobody has to say I never understood this. The text says it first, on their behalf, and then answers it.

What is here

  • A guide you can hand to anyone, as it is.
  • A leader’s write-up with six ways to run the material.

God, What’s Next?

The Road Forward After Saying Yes to God

About the book

The fifteen-day guide

What Now?

A fifteen-day guide for someone who said yes to Jesus and was never discipled afterward. One short reading a day, ten minutes each. A gift into a ministry, a group, a class, or a person’s own hands.

  • Fifteen days that divide cleanly into three five-day studies, each able to stand on its own.
  • Each day: something God said, something underneath it you were probably never shown, one small thing to do, and a short prayer.
  • Every day ends with a question it deliberately leaves open, and names the chapter of the book where it is answered.
  • Reproduce it whole and share it as widely as you like. Do not sell it or alter it.

The leader’s guide

Teaching From This Material

Everything you would want to know before putting a term of somebody’s Sunday mornings on it: what exists, how long it runs, what you may copy, and what will come up in the room.

  • Six ways to run it: a small group over nine sessions, a class or Bible study over seventeen weeks, a sermon series of five, eight or seventeen weeks, follow-up for new believers, the discipleship half of a new members class, and a You Asked For It series.
  • Scope and sequence for each, with the term breaks that fall naturally.
  • Permissions in full, so you can act without writing to ask.
  • One thing to know before you start: what Chapter Two asks, and how it is safeguarded.

Permissions

So a leader can act without writing to ask.

The fifteen-day guide, What Now?

Standing permission is granted to reproduce and distribute it at no cost for non-commercial ministry use: printed, emailed, posted on a church website, bulk-printed for a room. No request is necessary.

Two conditions. It must be reproduced in its entirety and without alteration, copyright page included and text as written. And it must never be sold, or included in anything sold: a paid course, a conference packet, a bundled resource. No portion may be excerpted, abridged, rewritten, or republished under another title. Adaptations require written permission, which is usually granted and takes one email.

The book, God, What’s Next?

All rights reserved. Welcome without asking: brief quotation with attribution in a sermon, lesson, article, or review; reading a passage aloud to a class; using the chapter outline as a preaching scaffold; projecting a quoted sentence with the title and author shown.

Not permitted: photocopying or scanning chapters for a class, reproducing the discussion questions or study sections as a handout, posting chapter text online, or building the material into a course, workbook, or curriculum offered for sale. The study apparatus is printed inside the book so that no leader needs to copy anything.

Bulk and church pricing is available for classes and groups. Write and ask.

What is coming

Books Two and Three, Learning to Walk With Him and What You Are Here For, continue the same arc for groups that want a year rather than a term. Each will carry its own study material, and it will appear here.
